At today’s CBA shareholders’ meeting, the salary cap of domestic players and foreign aid in the 2023-24 season has been basically determined: compared with the 2022-23 season, in the new season, the overall basic salary cap of domestic players in a single team is 42 million yuan, which is down from last season. Meanwhile, the lower limit of salary cap is still 14 million yuan, which is the same as last season. In addition, the top salary limit of a single domestic player is still 6 million yuan; The overall salary limit of a single team of foreign players dropped from 5 million dollars last season to 4.25 million dollars. The salary caps of both domestic players and foreign aid have declined, which will have an impact on some teams, especially foreign aid.

In the 2022-23 season, the upper limit of the domestic players’ salary cap is 44 million yuan, which remains unchanged with the 2021-22 season, but the lower limit continues to be lowered to 14 million yuan. In addition, the top salary limit of domestic players continues to be 6 million yuan. The overall salary limit of foreign aid is still 5 million dollars, which remains unchanged from before.

It is understood that the overall basic salary cap of domestic players and the overall salary limit of foreign aid in the 2023-24 season will decrease to varying degrees compared with the 2022-23 season, and the salary cap of domestic players will drop to 42 million yuan, the foreign aid wage cap dropped to $4.25 million.

According to relevant regulations, both the domestic players’ salary cap and the foreign aid salary cap of the team are “soft caps”, which means that the team can exceed the salary cap in these two aspects, but the excess part needs to pay adjustment fees to the league.
